My name is Maria Claro, and I am a Portuguese student at Woodlands Academy. Being a member of the Global community is part of my identity. I have always loved to immerse myself in new cultures and countries, learn languages as well as make friends from all over the world. Starting when I was 11 years old in Belgium, I spent a month of my summer in a different country learning and volunteering. This passion inspired me to finish high school at Woodlands Academy, halfway across the world from my home country. me the most valuable part of being a Global citizen is to keep an open mindset and keep exploring; it is so fulfilling to create bonds and learn more about the World we live in. I believe that is the most important step to create a peaceful World.
