Statue of Christ

The installation and commemoration of the Christ statue, painted in red, within Woodlands Academy of the Sacred, resonate profoundly with the ethos of the 'RedWeek' initiative, a global endeavor orchestrated by the AIS Foundation to combat pervasive indifference towards the critical issue of religious freedom worldwide. This initiative, characterized by the illumination of churches in red—the color symbolizing the blood of martyrs—serves as a poignant reminder of the millions of individuals who endure persecution for their faith.
In alignment with the principles espoused by the Global Scholars Program, the red-painted Christ statue symbolizes not only the universality of religious freedom but also the shared responsibility to uphold and defend it. Through its vivid hue and prominent placement within our school, the statue becomes a tangible manifestation of our commitment to fostering empathy, understanding, and solidarity with those who suffer persecution for their beliefs.

The statue is a small version of the "Cristo Rei" statue in Portugal it is a memory of home I leave at Woodlands.
As Global Scholars, we are tasked with critically examining global issues and promoting solutions that uphold human dignity and justice. The red-painted Christ statue at Woodlands Academy of the Sacred embodies the essence of our mission by reminding us of the profound significance of religious freedom and the sacrifices made to preserve it. Its striking appearance serves as a perpetual call to action, challenging us to confront indifference, advocate for the marginalized, and strive for a world where all individuals can freely practice their faith without fear of reprisal.
In honoring and engaging with the red-painted Christ statue, we not only pay homage to those who have bravely stood for religious liberty but also reaffirm our commitment to being compassionate global citizens who actively work towards a more just and inclusive society. Through reflection, dialogue, and advocacy that the statue represents, we uphold the principles of the Global Scholars Program and contribute to the collective effort of fostering a world where religious freedom is cherished and protected for all.
